After I took my own family out to the Prayers from Maria sunflower field in Avon, OH, back in September. I knew I wanted to do a session there. You can see my family’s trip here. I didn’t feel right taking money for the session since the whole reason the field was there is to raise money for childhood cancer, so I offered up a free session to a family who was willing to donate to the foundation. The Saywells were the perfect family for this session. They have done multiple charity 5ks this year already, including the Fox Trot which benefited the Prayers from Maria foundation and Jordan’s employer also matched her donation, which is amazing!!! They are such a great family (although, I may be biased since Paul is my cousin;) ) and we had such a great session!
It was a beautiful, sunny, warm September evening perfect for a photography session! The Saywell family drove all the way to Avon from the east side to have their session at the field, so when they arrived the kids were ready to explore! We found fun in running up and down the rows of sunflowers, smelling them, and playing “high” with Mom and Dad. They are such great kids and were so fun to photograph. Kendall even picked some sunflower petals for me to take home to my own son (isn’t she a sweetie?)! She is such a great big sister to Brayden, who didn’t stop smiling the whole time! And can we talk about their outfits? Great job coordinating Jordan, you guys looked great and the colors worked perfectly with the yellow sunflowers!!! Thanks so much for driving out to my neck of the woods, it was great seeing you guys and one of these days we will get our kids together for a play date!
