Hi all! Today you get to meet a beautiful baby girl named Hadley and see her awesome parents, Leah and Joe again (remember them from their Shaker Lakes maternity photos?). And of course I can’t forget their fur baby, Patti 🙂
I am so thankful that I get to work with so many amazing families, like the Coburns. Since I got to know Leah and Joe through lots of emails, phone calls, and of course their maternity session, when I walked into their Cleveland Heights home to meet baby Hadley, I didn’t feel like I was going there to work. I felt like I was going to meet a friend’s new baby for the first time. And I adore that about this job. I genuinely love getting to know the families I work with and hear their stories. I love being able to chat and laugh like we are old friends even though we’ve only known each other a few months. I love to beautifully photograph and showcase the details and the personal touches that makes their home theirs. And I love that because we have a comfort with each other, the natural moments and smiles come out in the resulting photos (see the evidence below 🙂 ).
Here’s a little snippet of the Coburn family’s story. While Leah, Joe, and Hadley live here in Ohio, their families live all the way over in Michigan. For me personally, I know that my husband and I are so grateful every day that we get to do this child-raising thing with our families nearby. And I know it has to be so hard for Leah, Joe, and their families to be so far apart, but so far Leah and Joe are rocking this parenting thing! They are naturals with Hadley. She is so lucky to have them as her parents. Because their families live so far away, we were sure to incorporate a few special and meaningful items into their session. The Care Bear blanket you see on the back of the chair used to be Joe’s. The purple bonnet you will see Hadley in belonged to Leah as a baby, and the quilt she is laying on was made by her Grandma! We also snuck in a photo with a special Michigan monkey that her Aunt made for her ( I know all you OSU fans are cringing!) 🙂 . You won’t often see me using props in my newborn sessions, but I do love to sneak special, sentimental items into your photos. And check out the AMAZING job that Leah and Joe did on the nursery. I had to capture a ton of detail shots to make sure they always remember all the hard work and love they put into Hadley’s nursery (they made that adorable animal mobile, btw!).
Leah and Joe, I’m so thankful you chose me as your maternity and newborn photographer. I have truly enjoyed meeting and getting to know you guys! You have started such a wonderful little family together 🙂 .
P.S. Hadley’s session happened to take place on Leah’s 30th birthday, everybody wish Leah a Happy Birthday in the comments!
