I just finished up editing this little guy’s in home newborn session, sent off his gallery to his parents and realized I never shared his Fresh 48 session! Remember baby Kamran’s arrival and birth photography session?  Well, 2 days after he was born, I headed back to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, OH for his Fresh 48 session to get some photos of him and his new family after they had a little bit of time to get to know one another.

And I’m so glad I was able to make it back!  It was a great session and we captured some great memories for Mom and Dad! Kamran was awake and content for most of the time I was there and Catherine and Amir already seemed to know just what their baby needed.  Dad jumped right in to swaddle him when he was getting fussy and Mom was a breastfeeding pro!

No matter how many Fresh 48 sessions I do, each one is special and so unique.  I love getting images of all the little details that makes each family’s time in the hospital their own, like the gifts they have received from friends and family, baby’s first bassinet, and the little hospital bracelets.  Being there in the hospital ensures I get those first unique “quirks” that each baby has in their first couple days of life.  Years from now, Mom and Dad will be able to look back at these photos and remember that Kamran loved to put his little hand right up in front of his mouth, that as soon as he was unswaddled his little legs would go right up to how they were when he was inside his mama (he was breech), and how when he nursed, he loved resting his little hand on his Mama’s chest.
