My youngest little man turned one year old today! I know it’s cliche, but this year really has flown by. I can’t believe that just a year ago I was in the hospital with him and now he’s a little person full of personality.
He is happy most of the time, his face lights up when he sees his older brother, and he loves his Mama and Daddy. He’s a snuggler when he’s tired and angry when he doesn’t get his way. He loves to play with his big brother, loves to sing, and loves to play “Patty-cake” and “This little piggy”. I just love his chubby little thighs and the crazy hair of his that refuses to stay out of his eyes 🙂 He is my little troublemaker and gets in to whatever he possibly can.
He has been through a lot in his short little life, having been born with bilateral club feet, but he has handled everything so well. He’s been through months of casting, two surgeries, and the last few months have been spent having his feet in special shoes connected by a bar. Through it all, he never let it slow him down. Even with bilateral full casts on his legs he still crawled around like a champ and never let it stop him from getting where he wanted to go! We finally got the ok last week from his orthopedic doctor to be brace and cast free during the day!!! Now, he only has to wear the shoes and bar at night. I’m excited to see him thrive 🙂 Hopefully, he will start being able to pull himself up and get walking soon so he can keep up with his brother!
Transitioning to two children was not easy for my husband or I, but Max always knows when to give us a big smile to show us that although it’s been hard, it’s all so worth it to be able to have him in our lives. Our life would definitely not be the same without him in it.
We love you so much Maxwell! Happy 1st Birthday!!!
