It’s extraordinary to me how fast time flies. I mean it feels like just yesterday that Shannon brought that black and white striped blanket out of the car for their maternity session. And now – when I met up with them 2 weeks ago in their hometown of Chardon to update their family photos – sitting on that same blanket, they have a happy, adorable baby girl who has brought so much joy and love into their lives.
This is why being a newborn and family photographer is so important to me. Lola only slightly resembles the newborn baby she was back in October. She’s sitting all on her own. She’s got a head full of soft curls and 2 little teeth. Her personality is starting to shine – her smile and laugh are contagious. And don’t even get me started on her arm rolls… AAAAHMAZING!!!
But like the newborn stage, this stage is not forever. Her 2 little teeth will soon be replaced by a full toothy smile. The baby rolls will soon be gone and the head full of soft baby curls will be replaced by pigtails. And then one day she won’t even need to be held anymore. And when that day comes, Shannon and Chuck can pull out these photos and say to each other “Remember the way she laughed when you tossed her in the air? How she loved to play with her toes? How she used to love to swing in the hammock with us at the end of a long summer day?” There’s no better job (to me, anyways!), than providing a family with long lasting memories like these.
Thank you so much Kaufman Family for choosing me as your photographer. It means the world to me that you trust me with your family’s memories!
